1. WV E-File: [New Feature] Case Number and Style appear in the heading of all filings into existing cases.
- Time-saving feature prevents filer from navigating back to Case Lookup tab to verify case ID before submission.
2. WV E-File: [Correction] Civil Case Information Statement replaced Case Information Sheet.
CourtPLUS
and WV E-File Terminology:
- Batch Filing
– A filing into multiple cases via a single transaction.
- Single Filing
–A filing into a single case.
- Related Cases
– A group of cases (2 or more) linked together in CourtPLUS.

Common Examples:
- Boundover
& Felony Case
- Juvenile
Abuse & Neglect Cases for multiple children within a family
- Unrelated Case – A single case that is not linked to a group of cases in CourtPLUS.
- Additional Cases – One or more cases (related and/or unrelated) that are associated with a filing.
3. WV E-File:
[New Feature] New Batch Proposed Order (Multiple
cases) filing is now available.

feature enables Proposed Order submission for multiple cases via a single
filing.

Batch Proposed Order filings
are available via the normal, single case Proposed Order filing option under Proposed Orders Ã
Proposed Order – Case (Rtf Editor)
To file a batch case
proposed order, select Yes to
add Additional Cases in the Case
Lookup tab.
To add Additional Cases that are not related to the case entered in Case Lookup tab, select Add.
To add Additional Cases that are related to the case in Case Lookup, select Add Related Cases.
Note: All related cases are checked by default. De-select cases that should not be included in the filing.
Note: Filing Attorney must be associated to all related cases in the Circuit Clerk’s Case Management System for access to all cases in a related group. The Filing Attorney must be counsel of record in the Circuit Clerk’s Case Management System (CourtPLUS), to at least one party, to gain access to file the Proposed Order.
If E-Filing Attorney is not counsel of record and the case is confidential, the case style displays ***CONFIDENTIAL*** and the Attorney is encouraged to notify the Circuit Clerk’s Office before filing.
4. WV E-File:
[New Feature] New Batch Supporting Documents (Multiple
cases) filing is now available.
• Time-saving
feature enables Supporting Documents submission for multiple cases via a single
filing.
• Batch Supporting Documents filings are available via the normal, single
case Supporting Documents filing option under Miscellaneous à Supporting Documents
To file a batch case
supporting document, select Yes
to add Additional Cases in the Case
Lookup tab.
To add Additional Cases that are not related to the case entered in Case Lookup tab, select Add.
To add Additional Cases that are related to the case in Case Lookup, select Add Related Cases.
Note: All related cases are checked by default. De-select cases that should not be included in the filing.

5. WV E-File: [Correction] State/Province on Credit Card no longer reverts to the State of West Virginia.
6. WV E-File: [Update] Inactive Bar ID Error updated to provide accurate support information.
- Previous Error: You are no longer in active status. Please contact West Virginia State Bar or local clerk's office for more information.
- New Error (Attorney): Access Denied (Inactive WV State Bar ID) Attorney Name (A-###) should contact the West Virginia State Bar for more information.
- New Error (Government): Access Denied (Inactive Substitute Bar ID) Government Filer (G-###) should email the Service Desk at ServiceDesk@courtswv.gov for more information.
7. WV E-File: [Update] Filing Notification Emails now include Judge assignment in the body of the email.
