The following
items will be available Thursday, August 15, 2019 at approximately 8:00 PM for
the WV E-File application.
1. E-File: Dates are now limited to the following range:
1-1-1900 through 1-1-2100, in an effort to minimize invalid entries.
2. E-File: “Case Summary” tab renamed “Party List” tab.
3.
E-File:
“Represented Parties” renamed “Parties Represented” & all parties display
in a single list. *Additional Feature: If filing attorney is already associated
with a party, the party will be auto-selected.
4. E-File: Miscellaneous
“Certificate of Service” filing replaced “Notice of Discovery”.
5.
E-File: Receipts now contain the style of case.
6.
E-File:
Civil case defendant fee multiplier (HB2980 fee) now applies $15.00, regardless
of Service selection (No Service & Hold for Later Service).
7.
E-File:
Updated Email Notifications to be more intuitive and to include Filing Type
& Description.
Note: Description
of Supporting Documents replaced Document Type in email subject line.
8.
E-File: “Register of Foreign Support” filing
no longer requires a child party, for instances of Spousal Support filings.
9. E-File:
New document type “Affidavit to Withhold Identifying Information” is now
available.
10.
E-File: Selection of "Do you wish
to seal identifying information" checkbox on Domestic CIS now requires
upload of “Affidavit to Withhold Identifying Information” document.
11. E-File: Support Information has been updated and made
readily available.

E-File:
Recurring Parties is a new time-saving
feature that minimizes repeat party entry.
To create a Recurring Party record select Account à Recurring Parties
Select Add
to enter a new commonly used party record.
To retrieve Recurring Party records, select Add in any party entry tabs, then
select the desired record from the Recurring Parties drop list to populate the
party record.
13. E-File:
New Batch Case Subpoena (Multiple cases with one or more Subpoenaed party)
filing is now available, when filing fees
do not apply (i.e. Government filings).
Batch
Case Subpoenas are available via the normal, single case
Subpoena, filing option under Miscellaneous
à Subpoena.
To
file a batch case subpoena, select Yes
to add Additional Cases in the Case
Lookup tab.
To add Additional Cases that are not related to the case entered in
Case Lookup tab, select Add.
To add Additional Cases that are related to the case in Case
Lookup, select Add Related Cases.
Note: All related
cases are checked by default. De-select cases that should not be included in
the Subpoena filing.
Note: Filing
Attorney must be associated to all related cases in the Circuit Clerk’s Case
Management System for access to all cases in a related group. The Filing Attorney must be counsel of record
in the Circuit Clerk’s Case Management System (CourtPLUS), to at least one
party, to gain access to file the subpoena.
If
E-Filing Attorney is not counsel of record, the case style displays ***CONFIDENTIAL***
and the Attorney is encouraged to notify the Circuit Clerk’s Office before
filing.
To add a Witness, select Add via Subpoena Witness tab.
New Witness party will be added to all Cases selected in “Selected Cases” once
filing is accepted via the Clerk’s queue.
Note: All cases are checked by default. De-select cases in which the witness party
should not be subpoenaed and added as a party.
To Subpoena an
active case party, select Add via Subpoena Party tab to open Set Service
window. Select a party on one or multiple cases, click Set Party
Name/Address. Verify Name & Address in
Service tab and select Service Type. Repeat steps for each party requiring
subpoena.
Note: The Selected Parties list includes all
parties, on all cases in which the filer is counsel of record in
CourtPLUS. No parties are selected by
default. If the list does not include all cases from the Additional Cases tab
or if the system displays ***CONFIDENTIAL*** in the case style, then the filer
is not counsel of record for any parties on that case(s).
Notice:
Multiple case batch subpoena filing is only available for filings
without fees, such as government attorney filings. Therefore, if a proper Government Agency is
not selected, the filer will receive the following message:
Error: Multiple case batch subpoena filing with a
fee is currently not supported.
